Stephen Langley (1938-1997) was a pioneer in the field of Theatre and Arts Management. His ground breaking book Theatre Management and Production in America combined with his graduate program in Performing Arts Management at Brooklyn College/City University of New York set the standard of training and professionalism for the field. He was a member of the City University’s doctoral theatre faculty and former president of the Association of Arts Administration Educators. He was the author of other QSM titles: Producers on Producing and Jobs in Arts and Media Management. Langley bequeathed rights to Theatre Management and Production in America to colleague David Conte who has revised, updated, and expanded Langley’s classic.
