P art of author Bonnie Holt Ambrose’s Little Costume Workbook series, this one is a workbook on turn-of-the-century hats.  The author has distilled her many years experience designing, cutting and maintaining for her own theatrical supply company into time-saving and simple methods for building hats.  Ten simple steps and the right patterns create the basic wide brim hat which can then be adorned and adapted by the addition of bows, feathers, tulle, or flowers. Also outlined are the steps for creating the small brim Sweetheart hat as well as sheer brim covers. Guiding the reader through step-by-step construction, Bonnie’s methods have proven popular and easy-to-follow.
